More Art Now

I added a couple of my photographs. Now all that is left to be done is to maybe add a piece of 3D art and maybe a plant. And the rocking chair, AND the Hittys, of course!! Haven't decided what to put upstairs yet. Maybe a built-in bed, and small nightstand??
OOPS!!! Anyone know how to REMOVE pictures from your blog?!!? Some of these pictures are BEFORE I added the photographs. Oh, well........

Hitty Art Gallery Has Art

Here is my little art gallery with some original art from my friends displayed. I've left space to add some of my own photography, too. Soon it will be done.

I still need to decide what furniture I want to put upstairs, make Beatrix some underwear, and finish the two Hitty's dresses, not to mention a coat of sealer for both of dolls.
I'm itching to begin carving a cedar Hitty from some scraps my DBIL gave me, but I can't do that until this project is finished.

Recycled Project

I am big on recycling, in case you haven't noticed. Anyway, our doll club in Pierce county is doing a project using a styrofoam wig head. One of our members saw one at the FiberFest that had felt adhered to it, and she wanted to do one, too.

I had planned to use felt on mine, also, but when I went to find it, I found a felted sweater first (I look for them at thrift stores), so I used that instead of felt. I worked on it all day Saturday, until I was almost sick of it. I had planned to give her jewelry on Sunday, but got sidetracked with other things, so will try to get started on that today. I like her and now I want more of those styro heads to do more.
I am suggesting to the co-op art gallery that we have a show next fall featuring art using repurposed material--we might draw a totally different audience for that kind of a show.

Okay, I'll try to keep this up better.

I'm trying to figure out if I can add pictures. I THINK I can. Yay, I DID it!!! Here is one of the several Knitty Kitties I've made for the World Wide Christmas (probably should be "Holiday" to be more inclusive, but I wasn't consulted!!) 2009 Drop by Toy Society Members all over the world (next weekend). Go to toysociety.com to learn more about this cool street art project. I'm a fan of street art--I think art belongs EVERYWHERE!!!!! It's inspiring, and will lure closet artists out, I'm sure. The world needs more art--I'm sure of that, too. These are pretty significant atatements for me because there AREN'T a lot of things I'm sure about. For an older person, I've got a surprisingly open mind (maybe stuff is falling out?), because it's still not made up about a lot of things. But it IS made up about art. I LOVE all forms of art and want to see more of it everywhere. I've loved being part of Harbor Art Guild and our Six Rivers Gallery in Hoquiam. Art lights me up--it lights up the world, too, I think. I hope it lights up YOU, too, my friends. Everyone should feel "lit up" by something; for me it's art.
